SMC Summer Sing-a-long

My Suite Melody Care performance tonight at a local Mississauga long-term care facility went really well! I used a theme suggested by Leslie: "Summer Sing-a-long". It might be a little cheesy, but it fit my song choices perfectly. In fact, a few of the audience members actually sang along for most of the songs - especially when I played "Home on the Range".

I think it was a good idea to play more songs from the 1940s to the 1980s - they seemed to bring back good memories for a lot of the residents.

After the performance, I spoke briefly with one of the audience members. She said the music was beautiful, and that it's wonderful how I'm able to use what I've learnt on the piano for a good cause. I'm really grateful for the SMC program allowing me to share music with others. Here's to many more successful SMC performances!
